Popularly known as EQDC (Electronics & Quality Development Centre) established, by Govt. of Gujarat. & under STQC (Standardization Testing and Quality Certification) Programme, Dept. of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India working in the state of Gujarat.
With primary objective at the time of EQDC’s inception – “Helping electronics industries in the Electronics Estate, GIDC, Gandhinagar, Gujarat”, it has widened it’s vision “To provide world class services in Calibration, Testing and Training in Quality awareness”. This has resulted in to it’s image of Laboratory of National repute, and Nation wide customer base.
With mission “To be key facilitator in making industries / organizations and users, to achieve their quality products/processes by meeting compliance to National and International standards and compete globally, by providing calibration, Testing and Quality services”. EQDC has scaled new heights in terms of Calibration, Testing facilities/ infrastructure & turn over.
Leadership
Established under the STQC Programme, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
EQDC is governed by a Governing Council headed by the Industries Commissioner, Govt. of Gujarat, with members from the Govt. of India, Govt. of Gujarat, industry associations and R&D institutes.
About EQDC
Electronics and Quality Development Centre (EQDC) has been established by the Industries and Mines Department, Govt. of Gujarat, under the Chairmanship of the Industries Commissioner, GoG, during 1998/1999 vide Govt. of Gujarat Resolution No. IDL/1197/436/I, dtd. 04/07/1997, and formally inaugurated on October 3, 2000. The centre has its sub-centre at GIDC Makarpura, Vadodara.
It is governed by the Governing Council duly headed by the Industries Commissioner, GoG, with the council comprising members from the Govt. of India, Govt. of Gujarat, Industries Associations / Representatives, and R&D Institutes.
The facilities established are based on the objective of the centre, i.e. to provide Testing, Calibration, Quality Advisory and other services to support industries in their product development for the state of Gujarat.
EQDC is a self-sustained organisation — i.e. it does not receive any assistance for recurring expenses like salary, maintenance or electricity, unlike GIRDA, CGCRI, IIACE, I-Create, CED and other Govt. PSUs / Boards & Corporations.
To deliver high-quality, value-driven testing and calibration services that meet or exceed customer expectations — promoting research and development to enhance product quality, and pursuing organisational and technical excellence.
